Yesterday I dropped my phone in the toilet (I know, I know, shame on me, I was stupid, I made a mistake, but I'm not here for criticism, I just want to fix my phone) and right after put into a bag of rice to get the water out. I plugged it in and it went to the charging screen that you get when your phone is dead, so I assumed it was fine and left it there. When I returned, the screen was black with white letters at the top. The lines all start with [NAND], there are 10 lines of this, and it only takes up a very small portion of my screen. In the center is a very dim apple logo. I'm not sure what's wrong with my phone, I was wondering how to fix this. Other information you might need is that my lock screen button is broken and that I've had this phone for a year.
Did you leave it in a bag of rice for at least 72 hours?
Sounds like your phone is toast, you can go to the Apple store and buy an out of warranty iphone 5.
