I want to switch back to the iOS6 software if Apple does not fix several factors. I can list a few things that look horrible. The App layout looks Very cheap. Purchased Apps with three dimensional look appear much better next to apps that come with phone. The weather app looks horrible with basic symbols, instead of great graphics for rain, sun, clouds and thunderstorms. The text message app looks like crap with weak keyboard, ugly font and flat bubbles. If I wanted cheap looking phone, I would of waited to get the iPhone 5c. Overall, iOS6 was Great looking and it's appearance was Fine. No changes were needed. I admit the new software has some extra choices, but there was no need to change design or look of things. So, if Apple is going to keep this basic and Cheap look, I want to switch back to iOS6. Is that possible?
I agree with you. The beta testing indicated that they should change the look, but they ignored it. Now they have quite a few unhappy customers.... Please make sure you let Apple know through www.apple.com/feedback
How would you know the beta testing showed that? Were you privy to all the feedback given to Apple and research they did?
As has always been the case, there is no legit way to go back at all.
Deggie, there was a great deal of feedback posted publicly during beta testing, if you bothered to read it.
I read a bunch of rumors on rumor sites and a few people who spoke off the record. Since developers and beta testers are under a non-disclosure agreement there was nothing factual anywhere.
I don't know what you're deal is, but it wasn't that hard to get an early release version of the IOS. I know people who had it, and non disclosure agreements don't keep people from communicating.l
Yes, I know people who also fraudulently obtained copies of the beta also. But I don't value the opinon of such people, including those who violate NDAs.
Peolpe who violate NDAs tend not to be invited back to the private parties.
I second deggie ... anyone who promised not to talk but did anyway cannot be trusted with much.
Agreed. I am one of those unhappy customers. I saw the beta screen shots and read the articles complaining about it. Also Jony Ive said something about “not yet finished” or “still in progress” so I thought they would rework those (though I had my doubts given the limited amount of time available).
Now I have a phone that looks quite a bit worse than before. I have the feeling Apple took my phone away and gave me something unfinished and not well designed instead.
I mean I really like some of the features of iOS 7 but the look is quite ugly compared to iOS 6 and also a lot less functional. Text is less readable, less ordered, less easy to comprehend. The base layout is boring and uninspiring.
A lot of helpful visual metaphors have been removed, e.g. if you flag an e-mail you no longer get a flag but a dot.
I mean a refresh of design is in order but I have the feeling iOS 7 completely disregards all the fantastic work that has been put into the old iOS design.
I already gave feedback on the Apple feedback page. What else can I do?
